- Degree in business with an appropriate accounting specialty or equivalent combination of education and business experience.
- Enrolled in or working towards a professional accounting designation (CPA).
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and cost accounting.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office.
- Exceptional analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detailed oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proven ability to think logically and solve problems effectively.
- Collaborative and proactive thinking.
- Possess a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Experience working with JDE financial systems and/or other financial ERP systems is considered an asset.
- General knowledge of the forest industry is an asset.
- Prepare month end financial statements, journal vouchers, variance analysis, fixed asset and trend reporting on a consistent and accurate basis.
- Create and maintain financial statements and analytical reports as required.
- Calculate and/or review related accruals and payment vouchers.
- Analyze assigned balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare external audit working papers.
- Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports in a timely manner in response to queries from interested parties.
- Prepare government and external reporting requirements (e.g. Statistics Canada and industry surveys) as required.
- Assist and back up Financial Accountants as needed.
- Respond to requests and provide analysis/information to support leadership, operations sectors or departments.
- Build trusted relationships with key business partners.

- You’ll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $80,000 per year.
