Our cutting-edge digital technology and dedicated team prioritize patient care and exceptional image quality.The General Radiography team supports imaging services across the hospital serving inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients. This includes mobile, surgical and intraoperative imaging, as well as fluoro-guided procedures along side radiologists and other specialties.The Breast Imaging team supports imaging services across the hospital serving outpatients and inpatients. This includes: performing screening and diagnostic mammography (conventional and digital breast tomosynthesis), assisting in a variety of breast interventional procedures and performing breast ultrasounds.Be part of our journey to shape the future of medical imaging through innovation, ground breaking research, education, and excellence in patient care. - Manage, organize, assign, and distribute workload among staff to ensure the department operates in a manner that is safe, efficient and responsive to volumes and outcomes
- Implement methods to ensure optimum imaging quality and quantity of exams to support patient care
- Leads, coaches, and mentors staff to foster a positive atmosphere that supports team building, collaboration, and educational strategies to enhance staff knowledge
- Ensures efficient and consistent service delivery including effective utilization of resources (e.g. staffing and equipment)
- Collaborates with the Management Team, including People & Culture, in the development and implementation of staff recruitment and retention strategies
- Develops, implements, and communicates performance measures in keeping with relevant professional and/or hospital standards
- Observes, understands and ensures staff and departmental compliance with Hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and with government legislation; adheres to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements
- Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
- Completion of a recognized medical imaging entry to practice program (i.e. Radiography, Nuclear Medicine, Magnetic Resonance, Sonography), required
- Completion of CAMRT certification exam
- Completion or currently working towards a Master's degree in a relevant program
- Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) program for health care providers, required
- Registration with CMRITO
- Minimum of 5 years experience working as certified Technologist in a medical imaging environment
- Understanding of technical procedures, operations, and clinical applications, preferred
- Excellent decision making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgments and to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations.
- Ability to work effectively and demonstrates composure under pressure/stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines
