  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in driving the successful execution of various projects, with a particular focus on initiatives within the transit sector, public agencies, and bus operations.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of project management methodologies, exceptional communication skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments inherent in public sector projects.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, government agencies, and community representatives.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and prepare regular status reports for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and best practices, as well as relevant public sector regulations and guidelines.
  • Support the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other procurement-related documents.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • PMP Certification is required.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in project management, with a significant portion of that experience gained within a Transit Agency.
  • Demonstrable experience managing projects within the Public Sector is essential.
  • Proven understanding and experience with Bus Operations, including but not limited to, fleet management, scheduling, maintenance, and operational efficiencies.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have Skills/Experience:
  • Experience with specific transit technologies.
  • Knowledge of provincial/federal procurement processes.
  • Change Management certification (e.g., PROSCI).
Must Haves:
  • 5-8 years' experience managing the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • 5+ years developing comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, objectives, deliverables, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • 5+ years Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including internal teams, external vendors, government agencies, and community representatives.
