- Provide customer service to the insurance community and municipal officials regarding fire insurance grades.
- Provide support to senior surveyors and the FUS organization in administration, archiving, mapping and related fire insurance graded support areas.
- Provide support to junior surveyors (FPS-1) through training and supervising work they conduct.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Canadian Public Fire Protection Classification Standard and complete Public Fire Protection Classification (PFPC) and Dwelling Protection Grades (DPG) for communities across Canada.
- Collect, review and evaluate field data for fire insurance grading of communities using the Canadian Public Fire Protection Classification Standard.
- Provide technical reports to clients on fire departments, water supply systems, emergency communications and fire safety control programs and their correlation of the fire insurance grades.
- Conduct risk assessments and fire department field surveys for the use in insurance grading.
- Minimum 2 year diploma from an accredited program of studies leading to registration as an Applied Science Technologist or equivalent.
- At least 2-5 years of experience with Canadian Public Fire Protection Classification grading, calculation and data collection.
- Experience in related field of water supplies, fire protection, or municipal planning.
- Advanced skill level with technologies including Microsoft Office ( Word and Excel), Google Earth and Adobe Acrobat,
- Understanding of ArcGIS and application of GIS technology as relates to fire insurance grading and management science (deployment analysis).
- Registered as C.E.T or AScT with Canadian Council for Technicians and Technologists, or equivalent.
