Position OverviewThe Events Director will lead the strategic development, execution, and growth of commercial events at The Corleck, a new landmark venue celebrating arts, heritage, and community. This leadership role is responsible for generating earned revenue through private rentals (e.g., weddings and corporate events). While the primary focus is on commercial events, the Events Director will provide occasional support to the Programming Manager in delivering in-house festivals and public programs.This position requires a dynamic, entrepreneurial leader with deep experience in events management, hospitality or cultural production, and a commitment to exceptional guest and artist experience.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Business Development
  • Develop and implement an events strategy to maximize venue usage and achieve revenue goals (e.g., $600,000 by Year 3).
  • Oversee pricing, packaging, and promotion of weddings, corporate rentals, and other commercial bookings.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director and Development team to integrate sponsorship opportunities and donor events.
Event Planning & Execution
  • Manage the full lifecycle of events—from inquiry and booking through to execution and post-event evaluation.
  • Coordinate logistics including staffing, suppliers, A/V, catering, permits, security, and insurance.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for clients, performers, vendors, and internal stakeholders during events.
Team & Vendor Management
  • Hire, schedule, and supervise part-time coordinators, contractors, and event staff.
  • Oversee vendor relationships including caterers, production companies, and equipment suppliers.
  • Ensure health, safety, and accessibility standards are met throughout all events.
Collaboration & Cultural Programming
  • Collaborate with the Programming Manager on public and artistic events, including theatre, festivals, and community initiatives.
  • Provide operational support for Foundation-led cultural programs as needed.
Revenue Management & Reporting
  • Monitor and report on event performance against revenue and expense targets.
Maintain accurate financial records, contracts, invoices, and post-event reconciliations
