
Senior Manager, Tax – Mergers & Acquisitions

What you will do
- Lead and manage tax due diligence engagements, identifying tax exposures, mitigation strategies and tax efficiency opportunities
- Advise on structuring acquisitions, dispositions, spin-offs, and joint ventures to optimize tax outcomes
- Provide tax comments to transaction documents to ensure appropriate tax considerations are accurately reflected and addressed
- Develop tax models to evaluate transactions
- Support vendor-side tax planning, including pre-sale analysis and carve-out strategies
- Perform transaction cost analysis and provide other support relating to the implementation of the transaction
- Guide clients through post-deal integration, addressing risks and accessing opportunities
- Collaborate with KPMG’s global network to support cross-border transactions and leverage international expertise
- CPA designation
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in tax, with significant exposure to M&A transactions
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and M&A tax issues
- Strong analytical, research and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead client engagements in a dynamic environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and build strong client relationships
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and mentoring team members
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with tax developments
- Proficiency with tax technology tools and data-driven approaches
