(employee will be working with or have access to children or vulnerable adults and requires a Criminal Record Check)Required for Professional RegistrationJob DescriptionIn accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.Reporting to the Program Director or Senior, and under the general direction of the Program Director or Senior, Psychology, provides developmental and psychological assessments and psychological treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and their families referred to the Queen Alexandra Centre for Children's Health.Travel may be a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of the Vancouver Island Health Authority in accordance with the service assignment and may require use of a personal vehicle.QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And ExperienceDoctoral degree in clinical child psychology (or equivalent). Current licensure in a practicing category with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC as a Psychologist. One (1) to five (5) years experience in working with infants, children, and adolescents with developmental disorders or with emotional or behavioral disturbance. Experience in the supervised practice of clinical child psychology is preferred. Valid BC Driver's license.Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other professional disciplines as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated organizational, planning and instructional skills.
  • Ability to keep abreast of current developments in the field of Psychology.
