- IT Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy that supports Vena's business objectives and growth. This includes driving the centralization of IT services across all departments, standardizing processes and tools for greater efficiency and consistency. You will set the vision for how technology (including AI) can enable business excellence and competitive advantage.
- AI & Innovation: Champion the adoption of advanced technologies - notably Generative AI and agentic AI - within the organization. Identify opportunities to leverage AI-driven solutions (e.g. implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot, building custom AI assistants with Copilot Studio) to automate processes, enhance decision-making, and improve employee experience. Lead Vena through the AI technology evolution, ensuring we remain at the cutting edge of innovation.
- Enterprise Systems Oversight: Oversee the management and optimization of core enterprise applications - including Salesforce (CRM), ADP (HRIS/Payroll), NetSuite (ERP), and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Office 365, Teams, Power Platform). Ensure these systems are reliable, well-integrated, and effectively support key business processes. Drive initiatives to integrate data across platforms for a single source of truth and streamline workflows (leveraging tools like Power Automate and Power Apps where appropriate).
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire an IT team of ~15-20 professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide clear direction, set performance goals, and support professional growth through coaching and development opportunities. Build a high-performing team that is agile and responsive to the evolving needs of the business.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between IT and other business units, working closely with Finance, HR, Operations, Product Development, and other stakeholders. Understand their technology needs and challenges, and ensure IT initiatives align with and enable their goals. Communicate effectively with senior leadership and across the organization to champion IT projects and demonstrate their value.
- Infrastructure, Security & Compliance: Ensure Vena's IT infrastructure (networks, cloud services, devices, and communications) is scalable, secure, and resilient. Implement best-in-class cybersecurity practices and policies to safeguard company data and systems. Oversee compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g. data privacy, software license compliance), and maintain robust IT governance and control frameworks.
- Project & Vendor Management: Prioritize and manage a portfolio of IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and AI integration projects, delivering them on time and within budget. Oversee relationships with key vendors and technology partners, negotiate contracts, and evaluate new solutions/providers as needed. Manage the IT budget strategically, optimizing spend and ensuring a strong return on technology investments.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish metrics and KPIs to measure IT performance, service levels, and the business impact of technology initiatives. Use data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement. Promote a mindset of continuous improvement and agility in IT service delivery, including adopting DevOps or automation in IT operations where beneficial. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and proactively bring forward ideas to keep Vena at the forefront (from cloud innovations to the latest in AI and enterprise software)
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 10+ years of progressive IT experience (or equivalent), with 5+ years in senior IT leadership roles driving strategy and overseeing teams. Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
- Strategic IT Leadership: Proven track record of developing and executing IT strategies that align with business goals and drive transformation. Experience centralizing or scaling IT operations across a company (unifying systems, processes, and teams) is a strong asset.
- Technical Expertise: Broad knowledge of enterprise IT systems and infrastructure. Hands-on familiarity with CRM, ERP, HRIS, and collaboration platforms - experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, ADP, and the Microsoft 365/Office ecosystem (including SharePoint/Teams) is a plus. Ability to evaluate and implement new tools and platforms; comfortable navigating both on-premise and cloud environments.
- AI and Emerging Technologies: Strong understanding of emerging technologies, especially in the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Exposure to generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) and automation platforms (RPA, low-code solutions) is expected, with a demonstrated enthusiasm for leveraging these to drive business value. Experience implementing AI-driven solutions or leading digital innovation initiatives will set you apart.
- Leadership & Team Management: Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing teams of IT professionals. Proven ability to build, mentor, and motivate teams, cultivating a positive and high-performance culture. Adept at change management - able to guide teams and organizations through change, such as technology rollouts or process transformations, with clear communication and empathy.
- Business Acumen & Innovation Mindset: Solid understanding of business processes (e.g. finance, HR, sales operations) and how IT systems underpin them. Business-savvy and innovative, always seeking ways to use technology (from AI to process automation) to improve efficiency, drive revenue, or reduce costs. A passion for staying current with tech trends and a creative mindset for applying new solutions in a practical, impactful way.
