Could It Be You?Questrade Inc., has multiple client tax reporting obligations to various tax regulators, including the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Ministère du Revenu du Québec (MRQ) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In addition, there are also regulatory obligations to obtain sufficient documentation from the client to identify their tax residency. Based on tax residency, withholding tax obligations must be met.The purpose of the Supervisor, U.S. Tax Reporting is to plan and monitor the daily activities within the Tax Reporting team, ensuring timeliness and accuracy are consistently achieved, with a positive customer experience front and center. Additionally, the individual assists the Senior Manager, Tax Reporting to scope project requirements, process documentation and change, and conduct user acceptance testing for system changesThe individual is expected to be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Canadian &/or US taxation, and act as the central point for client issues. You are if you…Have 3+ years experience in client tax reporting, ideally within the brokerage industryHave 1+ years of experience in people leadership role strongly preferred, ideally with client tax reportingHave a University or post-graduate degreeAre considered a SME in Canadian and/or US client tax reporting and filing processes (ideally both)Have deep understanding of U.S. withholding certificates (e.g., W-9s, W-8s), Qualified Intermediary requirements, and FATCA and CRS 2.0 requirementsHave knowledge of dividends, income processing, reorg, registered plansHave experience with book of records and back-office operational systems and processesHave knowledge of database queries (e.g. SQL), Microsoft Access, and advanced Excel, with the ability to work with large set of dataHave excellent written and verbal communication skillsAre detail oriented, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and deadline driven environmentHave a strong work ethic with a focus on achieving quality resultsHave strong organizational and time management skillsAre independent, self motivated, and have the ability to motivate others to exceed expectationsHave the ability to manage competing priorities effectively, both on a personal and team levelHave strong research & problem solving skills, with strong analytical skills to manage large datasetsHave strong continuous improvement mindset, and a desire to bring improvements to the table and see them to completionAre a collaborative and flexible team playerAdditional kudos if you…Have completed tax related courses and/or industry designations such as CSC or CPAHave knowledge of Broadridge BPS and Tax Form Plus systemsHave Google Suite experienceCompensation Information:Base salary range: $85,000 - $100,000The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada).
