As an Inventory Analyst Student at Ciena Canada ULC, you will support the inventory management team by analyzing data, assisting with inventory optimization, and contributing to the efficiency of our supply chain operations. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic technology environment.Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting related to inventory levels, movements, and discrepancies.
  • Support the development and implementation of inventory optimization strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, logistics, and finance, to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Participate in inventory reconciliation processes and investigate root causes of variances.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to monitor key inventory performance indicators.
  • Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives within the inventory department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support inventory management functions.
Job Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience with inventory management systems or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an asset.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Range: The hourly pay range for this position is $20.50 - $25.00Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
