Job Category: Administrative SupportDegree Level: High School Diploma/GEDJob Description:The Security Clearance Administrator is primarily responsible for initiating, coordinating and managing the federal government's Contract Security Program's (CSP) Reliability and NATO Secret level security clearance applications for all personnel including contractors. This position is also responsible for initiating, managing, and completing security assessments in accordance with federal government regulations and requirements for all employees requiring Controlled Goods clearances. In addition, this position is responsible for processing identification badges, maintaining databases, tracking supplies and maintaining photo identification binders and databases.Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.What you'll do
  • Initiating, tracking, managing, and coordinating all application submissions to the CSP.
  • Initiating, tracking, managing, analyzing, and rendering all decisions related to Controlled Goods security clearances.
  • Preparing and submitting security assessment decisions on a bi-annual basis to the CGD.
  • Managing all Commissionaire related requirements.
  • Researching all pertinent legislation, changes in regulations/federal government requirements and CSP requests for additional information.
  • Analyzing Credit Reports and personal information submitted by employees to determine level of CGD security clearance.
  • Managing security clearance ID updates.
  • Providing ongoing education and briefings on security responsibilities to cleared staff.
  • Assisting in the management of Security Clearances, IDs, Visitor Clearances, Visitor Access Tracking, Classified, Protected and Controlled Goods.
  • Assisting in the management of security files and databases.
  • Setting up or reactivating Securty badges for new and current employees and contractors and updating security information in the Security Database and Genetec security platform.
  • Maintaining Excel spreadsheets and databases or Power BI reports to track and maintain the status of security.
  • Process all renewals for CSP and CG clearances
  • Initiating, tracking, managing, and coordinating all application submissions for subcontractor companies cleared in house to the CSP.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring
  • Post-secondary education (preferred).
  • 2+ years experience in an office environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Accreditation in federal government Designated Official Certification Program (Preferred).
  • Ability to quickly obtain a Reliability and NATO Secret clearance.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Sound research and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, initiative and discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and to prioritize work.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, and Word.
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment, technology, and procedures.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Designated Official (DO) status under the Controlled Goods Program.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Alternate Company Security Officer (ACSO) status under the Contract Security Program.

The estimated salary for this position is $64,800 - $79,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
