- Safe operation of heavy equipment to maintain roads, run-ways, and grounds in extreme weather conditions
- Assisting with Mobile Support Equipment (MSE) maintenance/repairs including keeping the buildings where the MSE are kept
- Loading and unloading helicopters and fixed wing aircraft
- Shovelling snow/grounds
- Cleaning vehicles, performing fuel dips and fuel transfers, and assisting with sealift material delivery
- Providing assistance to the Facilities Maintenance Technicians in conducting preventative maintenance Inspections as directed
- Strict adherence to all safety policies, participation in required training, adherence to cold-weather/remote-site procedures and prompt reporting of hazards or incidents is a condition of employment
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Licensed heavy equipment operator with AirBrake certification
- Extensive experience operating equipment (front end loaders, dozers, graders, excavators, haul trucks, snowblowers, skid steer, forklift)
- Must be experienced or trained on driving vehicles with attached trailers
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability Security Clearance
- Physically fit for Arctic terrain and remote conditions
- Operators must complete a Safe Backing course
- Operators on airport ramps or runways must be authorized to do so by the appropriate Airport Authority
- Sound work ethic and problem solving skills
- Effective team work with good communication and interpersonal skills
