With decades of experience, Wilco is known for its strong safety culture, quality workmanship, and ability to execute challenging projects efficiently.Wilco is currently seeking multiple Heavy Equipment Technicians (HETs) to join our growing team. Successful candidates will work out of our fully equipped Edmonton facility, featuring overhead cranes, multiple lifts, and a clean, well-organized shop. Workload will be approximately 60% On-Road/ 40% Off-Road. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse fleet supporting major civil and infrastructure projects. Apply now to start the conversation!!!The HET will perform some or all the following:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain fleet vehicles and equipment to ensure proper and safe operating condition at the job site.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on all equipment in a timely manner working out of our shop, as well as in the field as required.
  • Work with Service Manager to prioritize and review repair orders to meet field demands.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel-electrical-hydraulic-engine mechanical-power drive-and specialty systems.
  • Diagnose any faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of the repair that is required.
  • Collaborate with the service team to improve operations, streamline work processes, and help create a positive environment to provide quality service.
  • Perform equipment repairs and service on site when necessary.
  • Keep detailed service reports and repair documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area for yourself and your team.
  • Promote and carry out Wilco Safety Procedures and Documentation.
Requirements
  • Journeyman Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • On Road Certification is required.
  • 3-5 years HET experience, preferred.
  • Experience with fleet vehicles considered an asset.
  • CVIP certification, or the ability to obtain.
  • Good with computers, smart devices and adaptive to new work order program.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must have the tools required to repair light trucks.
  • Rotating Shift Schedule with Overtime.
  • Able to work Saturdays during the busy season, most long weekends off.
