
Full-time Surveillance Operator-HFX

- Monitors, documents and reports violations and large cash/cash equivalent transactions
- Manage excluded and self-excluded guests and all unauthorized access
- Report violations to the Shift Manager, Surveillance
- Maintains logs and records
- Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
- Builds strong working relationships regulatory agencies
- Complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned or directed
- Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, employees, vendors and regulators
- Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

- Minimum Grade 12 education (or equivalent) is required
- Surveillance Certification is required- can complete onsite
- Must be or able to be certified by Service Nova Scotia, Alcohol and Gaming Division
- Post -secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience is an asset
- Excellent attendance and work record is required
- Previous Casino and/or Security experience is an asset
- Must have demonstrated, thorough knowledge of the Surveillance Department's role as a support function, and its mandate as it relates to the NS Gaming Regulations, Casino internal controls, policies and procedures
- Must have sound decision-making abilities and must excel in weighing risks within the regulated environment
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Basic mathematical skills
- Must have the ability to work flexible hours/days
- Must be a self-starter and able to work with little supervision
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must have excellent recall skills, memory retention, visual and mental acuity skills
