- Maximize operating profit and equipment reliability and availability through planned maintenance.
- Ensure the Tradespersons’ tool time is maximized.
- Track and generate management reports for costs incurred from maintenance services or requests.
- Investigate, evaluate, make a decision and prioritize Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) request regarding maintenance and repairs.
- Establish, improve and monitor work standards, as well as provides technical advice and assistance to the Thermal Operations and Maintenance teams.
- Eliminate waste from maintenance activities through planning and preliminary scheduling of service activities.
- Assist Maintenance Services Manager by monitoring and reporting on the implementation of operational and maintenance strategies/practices.
- Contribute to maintenance cost reduction programs by identifying and implementing improvements on equipment and work procedures.
- Identify key issues and patterns from available data, to identify problems, conflicts in order to find solutions and alternatives.
- Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical Technologist diploma WITH a minimum of five (5) years related experience, including experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and process plant experience. A journeyperson certificate with considerable related experience may be considered as an equivalency.
- Extensive knowledge in computer applications normally acquired through several years experience and or formal training is required. Programs include word processing, spreadsheets, database, scheduling, and email/internet and Computerized Maintenance Management System programs.
- Good planning, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Requires experience in preparing capital and operating budgets.
- Requires extensive experience in the production and distribution of power.
- Requires good analytical and diagnostic skills with problem solving competence.
- Class 5 driver's license is required.
- Satisfactory criminal record check.
