Discovery introduced Max, an enhanced streaming platform, in the U.S. HBO Max is currently available in 46 countries and there are plans for the continued global expansion of Max in 2024.Meet Our Team:The Global Device Operations team designs, builds, and manages a network of large-scale device farms across multiple global data centers. These device farms contain thousands of consumer-grade connected devices — including set-top boxes, smart TVs, mobile phones, gaming consoles, and more — which power testing and quality assurance for WBD’s global streaming platforms.This team owns and operates the network and infrastructure that makes these environments performant, secure, and scalable. From routing design to tunnel-based geolocation, from overlay networks to automation, we operate at the crossroads of engineering, operations, and innovation.Roles & Responsibilities:We are hiring a Senior Network Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecting and automating scalable network systems in hybrid and on-prem environments. You will lead the design and execution of complex data center networks, integrate modern overlay technologies, anddevelop network automation as we evolve our infrastructure toward greater agility and resiliency.The Senior Network Developer will engage with various stakeholders across engineering, dev teams, corporate IT, and enterprise infrastructure to ensure consistent, high-performance network operations.You will also play a key role in mentoring engineers, setting design standards, and representing network engineering across the org.Scope and Complexity:You have deep subject-matter expertise in data center networking and have led the design and operation of production networks at scale. You understand how to apply automation, platform thinking, and layered architecture to support large environments with multi-vendor gear and highly diverse device types.You design straightforward, scalable solutions for complex technical problems using modern best practices in Layer 2/3, tunneling, overlay networks, and infrastructure as code. You anticipate dependencies across the infrastructure stack and drive long-term improvements.You have delivered multiple stable, scalable, and highly available infrastructure solutions that have powered real-world, mission-critical systems. You are familiar with designing and managing systems that support thousands of endpoints and services.Operations:You are a model of best practices — your work is clean, documented, and durable. You integrate telemetryand debugging tools into your workflows and improve visibility across the stack. You lead by example and help raise the operational standard across the team.You mentor engineers and collaborate across teams. You participate in technical design discussions, influence architectural decisions, and help shape our long-term strategy. You bring others with you by simplifying complexity and teaching along the way.You’re an effective communicator across engineering, ops, and product teams. You translate technical details into business context when needed, and vice versa. Your documentation and architecture diagrams are clear, thorough, and accessible.What to Bring:
  • 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on data center architecture, operations, and automation
  • Expert-level knowledge of:
- Layer 2 protocols (STP, VLANs)- Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)- Overlay networks and control planes (EVPN, VXLAN)- Tunnel technologies (IPSec, GRE, L2TP)
  • Experience with:
- Cisco (NXOS, ACI, IOS XE), Arista EOS, Mikrotik ROS- HPE and Cisco UCS server platforms- NetBox- tcpdump, Wireshark, traceroute, EP-tracker- Ansible, Terraform- Python scripting- Infoblox, Fibre Channel SANs, Aruba/Mikrotik wireless tech- Hyper-V, ESXi- AWS, GCP, Azure
  • Demonstrated experience with network migrations, multi-vendor environments, and automation-first initiatives
  • Strong technical documentation skills and ability to represent network engineering in cross-functional discussions
