This is a mandatory step for your candidacy to be considered as it enables us to explore your compatibility with this role and our culture of luxury excellence.Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Mechanic Operator will be responsible for all preventive maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on equipment at the Fairmont Royal York including Kitchen and Laundry/Valet equipment as well as mechanical areas.
- Good upkeep, repair and maintenance of all laundry equipment including, but not limited to washers, dryers, feeders, ironers and any other equipment or machinery in the laundry areas.
- Good upkeep, repair and maintenance of Kitchen equipment including or machinery in the Kitchen and Dishwashing areas.
- Maintain adequate inventory and support the ordering of spare parts to maintain sufficient on-site inventory to support normal operation
- Guest room AHU’s/HVAC(Air Handling Units/Heating, Ventilation and Air-conditioning) repair and maintenance
- Basic plumbing and electrical knowledge
- Ensuring Health & Safety standards in the work area.
- Ensuring Cleanliness of equipment
- Maintenance, repairs, installation and trouble shooting of Hotel’s physical plant and equipment
- If required, will assist the Engineering Dept. in other trade areas as required
- Public Holiday, weekends work may be required as needed
- 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Industrial Mechanical certification is an asset
- Gas license is an asset
- WHMIS & OHSA
- ODC is a must when working with refrigeration gas
- Excellent guest service and must be able to communicate in the English language
