- Ensure accurate completion of administrative duties such as payroll tracking, production tracking, equipment inspection and maintenance, drills, safety documents, and production reports.
- Plan daily and weekly production and logistics for your team before the work begins and inspect your team’s work in conjunction with sample plots and document.
- Motivate and inspire those on your team to perform to their fullest potential.
- Communicate with clients and their representatives to maintain a good working relationship.
- Collaborate with Project Manager to oversee contract safety, production, and quality.
- Assist Project Manager in keeping projects within the allotted budget.
- Create final deliverable packages to be submitted to the client.
- Oversee completion of daily field tasks.
- Train new staff to safely perform all job functions.
- Ability to complete job duties in physically strenuous and varying terrains.
- Other duties as required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of silviculture or forestry-related field experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of survey methods, FRPA stocking standards, and common forest health indicators.
- Accredited Silviculture Surveyor certification is a strong asset.
- Post-secondary education in forestry, natural resources, or a related field is preferred.
- A valid B.C. Class 5 Driver's License, or equivalent, and a current Driver’s Abstract.
- Previous experience operating ATVs and pick-up trucks safely on various road conditions is an asset.
- Prior supervisory experience ensuring production targets are met while meeting financial targets.
- Previous experience in compliance and implementation of safety standards.
- Preference may be given to candidates holding a valid BC Intermediate or Advanced First Aid certification, or equivalent.
- Pre-employment drug testing required for safety sensitive positions.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Punctuality, dependability, and accountability in the field.
- The ability to work away from home for scheduled periods of time.
