The SCO acts as a central point of contact and strategic advisor, ensuring that clients receive seamless access to the full suite of CIBC’s capabilities across all business lines.The Managing Director, Strategic Client Solutions, is responsible for the operational execution of CIBC’s most senior client relationships (including executives), ensuring the highest standards of service and satisfaction. This role will partner with the Vice Chairs to leverage CIBC relationships enterprise-wide, enhancing client support to improve the overall client experience. The Managing Director assists in identifying clients’ changing business needs and introduces optimal solutions with a clear understanding of the relevant products and services available. Additionally, this role elevates awareness and value of the current offering. The Managing Director also establishes and maintains a network of strategic relationships—including CIBC key stakeholders, financial sector business leaders, and FI product and service experts—to understand and partner in enhancing CIBC’s enterprise-wide client solutions offerings. You will oversee the end-to-end build and execution of a well-functioning SCO, working in partnership with SBUs and Functional Groups to urgently advance your SCO client impact and growth objectives. As the control tower of our bank’s Connectivity enabler, you will bring structure, discipline, and accountability to the realization of a fully Connected franchise, while continuously communicating what Connectivity means for each leader at our bank. You will establish and monitor SCO key performance indicators that span client experience, client share of wallet, market share, and shareholder value creation. Additionally, you will evaluate partnerships and alliances that could strengthen your SCO offering or deepen relationships, in partnership with Strategy & Corporate Development. Leveraging advanced analytics, you will identify external client opportunities and develop strategies to optimize client engagement and satisfaction.Client Solutions: You will assemble and align our bank’s global set of client solutions, expertise, and key capabilities to effectively communicate our integrated advice and value proposition for global institutional clients and ultra-high-net-worth families. You will define and sponsor the creation of new, integrated client solutions to address pain points, enhance client value, and deepen relationships by partnering with bank-wide product and solution, segmentation, and client coverage teams. You will champion a data-driven, advanced analytics approach to generate client insights, identify opportunities, and tailor client strategies that anticipate opportunities to deepen SCO relationships. Collaborating with field Relationship Managers and Vice Chairs, you will support Global Markets solutions with clients. Additionally, you will develop and execute initiatives to enhance client engagement and satisfaction, including wealth literacy, succession planning, and dedicated marketing and business development efforts for strategic clients.Relationship Management: You will interface directly with SCO clients in strategic solutioning, ensuring their needs are met with thoughtful and effective approaches. You will create and maintain guiding principles that support the evaluation of client requests for donations, sponsorships, affiliations, or any other form of balance of payments. By fostering continuous learning opportunities within our bank, you will empower client-facing teams to fully understand the breadth and depth of our expertise and solutions, reinforcing opportunity identification across our connected platform and proactively introducing the right team members to the table. Additionally, you will collaborate with key partner groups to understand the needs of senior executives and provide tailored support to enhance their overall experience with CIBC.Who You AreYou have a minimum 10 years of related experience; You have formal training and demonstrable skills in credit analysis and deal making. You have a thorough understanding of Wealth Management products, theories and practices, well-developed financial analysis and financial modeling skills.You bring a consulting mindset.
