
Fuel Handling Design Engineer

- Perform conceptual and detail design engineering work on mechanical equipment and systems, and/or process related D2O, oil hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Prepare design documentation such as design requirements, design descriptions, design specifications, technical specifications, component specifications, test procedures and plans, commissioning procedures, registration design submissions packages, flow sheets, detail drawings, general arrangements and equipment layouts.
- Perform activities related to machine design, and in support of manufacturing, assembly, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical and process controls systems.
- Review design reports, analysis reports, calculations, documents and drawings in support of design verification.
- Conduct technical, conceptual and detail design meetings in front of peers, clients and suppliers.
- Provide technical guidance to drafting staff as well as mentoring and oversight of junior engineers.
- Provide engineering support to quality surveillance, manufacturing, assembly and testing with non-conformances.
- Work in accordance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, client and company procedures.
- Provide consultation and/or review and approval of engineering quotation request packages and purchase requisitions.

- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited University with a minimum 5 years of experience in machine, automation, equipment and/or tooling design, or 5 years of experience in the fluid power, oil hydraulic control and/or water process control industry.
- Registered, or eligible to be registered, as Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
- Understanding of mechanics of machines, mechanics of materials, material selection and fundamentals of machine component design.
- Knowledge of general requirements for pressure-retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants CSA N285.0 code is an asset.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section II, III, V, VIII and IX is an asset.
- Knowledge of boiler, pressure vessel, and pressure piping CSA B51 code is an asset.
- Presentation skills and public speaking abilities is an asset.
- CAD experience in Solid Edge or Solid Works is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
