We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.The RoleCameco is currently seeking a senior legal advisor to join our team on a permanent basis. As a member of the legal team, you will be responsible for providing legal support to Cameco's internal departments, as well as external stakeholders including Cameco's subsidiaries and joint ventures.In this role, you will:
  • assist with regulatory, occupational health and safety, and environmental legal matters which may include conducting research, drafting of legal memoranda, interpretation of legislation and regulations, and preparation of other documentation as required;
  • support domestic and international projects and joint ventures;
  • negotiate, draft, review, and approve commercial agreements; and
  • provide legal assistance to Cameco's exploration, marketing, securities and public disclosure, supply chain management, and other departments necessary to the business.
Required:
  • Bachelor of Law or a Juris Doctor Degree;
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with the Law Society of Saskatchewan;
  • Eight or more years of post-bar call legal experience;
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered;
  • Strong written and verbal negotiation and communication skills;
  • Collaborative, results-oriented team member with strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify legal risks and provide risk-adjusted advice and solutions;
  • Self-directed and motivated to handle various legal projects simultaneously; and
  • Willingness to travel by aircraft to northern Saskatchewan and Ontario operations as required.
