Powell Foundations Inc. (PFI) strives to provide clients with all their foundation needs. We specialize in constructing temporary excavation protection, pile driving, deep caisson shafts, sheet pile cofferdams, noise barriers, and overhead sign footings.Powell Foundations is looking for a Construction Manage to oversee and manage a team of Project Managers/Project Coordinators to ensure each assigned contract is being completed safely, on time and on budget. Improve operational efficiencies, identify business opportunities and manage/mitigate project risk.Main Responsibilities
  • Train, develop and mentor the project management group.
  • Work in conjunction with various departments internally (accounting, operations, scheduling, safety etc.) to ensure the sucessful execution of each assisgned contract.
  • Monitor and review project financials – budget, cost and revenue.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risk.
  • Identify and act on project opportunities.
  • Ensure good customer service and lead business development.
  • Attend various site meetings and meet with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to project scheduling and forecasting requirements.
  • Develop and implement best practices for project management.
  • Work closely with pre-construction and estimating.
  • Collaborate with senior management on company vision and growth.
  • Promote and integrate core values into daily activities; Safety, Service, Performance & Quality.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of experience in the construction industry working as a Project Manager
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or proven related field experience.
  • Heavy civil construction experience (MTO/OPSS experience an asset)
  • Knowledge of shoring systems and deep foundations (piles and lagging, caisson wall, sheet piling, shotcrete, caissons, micropiles, helicals and driven piles)
  • Previous supervisory experience in a construction environment
  • Well-developed client interaction skills; verbal, written, conflict resolution, etc.
  • Must have strong communication, time management, scheduling, and negotiations skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications such as excel, word outlook etc.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a Valid G license
  • Must be able to work independently and in a team
