As our ideal candidate, you are able to lead with a positive attitude and outlook towards to the work performed. Your strength's are; to evaluate, train, develop and coach members of the team. Be able to multi-task with changing day-to-day needs. And specialize in communicating well with everyone on your team, from Labourers to Managers, leading by example and inspiring a strong safety culture.Please note - All Foremen candidates will undergo an in person Truck/Trailer and Equipment evaluation/competency, prior to receiving an offer and or before employment begins to ensure skill set and qualifications.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesFOREMAN:
  • Being hands-on in field construction directly involved in all aspects of project construction including planning, construction, quantity verification, and safety.
  • Communicating to the project Superintendent upcoming needs for the project including materials, manpower and equipment.
  • Assigning individual and crew tasks according to priorities and plans.
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment.
  • Ensures that all work is being done safely and in an efficient manner that maintains Wilco's excellent quality.
  • Ensure subcontractors compliance with specifications and timelines for their scope of work.
  • Responsible for training staff according to Wilco procedures and safe work practices.
  • Promote a positive work environment by upholding company policies and labor agreements, addressing issues early, and ensuring employees are treated fairly and consistently.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a construction foreman, civil preferred.
  • Must possess strong leadership/mentorship and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of equipment operation.
  • Strong numeracy skills, record keeping and technology usage.
  • Ability to read and execute plans, read grade stakes and use laser level.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have advanced knowledge of the fundamental principals of landscaping including grading, planting and hardscape.
  • Valid drivers license.
