Globally, we manage over 320 million square feet of client portfolios across 30,000+ locations in North America, Europe, Middle East, Australia and Asia.Further information is available at www.bgis.comSUMMARYThe Junior Commercial Overhead Door Technician is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine and on-demand services on commercial overhead doors, glass, glazing and building entry doors.KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Conducts regular inspection and preventative maintenance on commercial overhead doors, glass, glazing, building entry doors and related hardware.
Provides observations on conditions and deficiencies and suggestions for enhancements and repair.
Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
Troubleshoots and resolves commercial overhead door and related hardware issues.
Repairs, replaces and installs door hardware components.
Records resolution data applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Ensures work completed meets quality and contract response, and all other requirements.
Receives, tracks, monitors and reports status of maintenance work within applicable logs/service maintenance management database. Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.

Work Requirements

Must be able to work shifts, be on-call and be available to respond to emergencies.
Must be willing to wear personal protective equipment.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school education.
Past experience in commercial overhead door maintenance and repair work an asset.
High school diploma plus trades training and certification, an asset.
Ability to adhere and to properly execute processes and practices.
Ability to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems relating to doors and door hardware components.
Strong troubleshooting and resolution skills in order to resolve commercial door issues.
Possesses a strong environmental, health and safety mindset. Ability to perform work in a safe manner.
Strong client-service orientation with a high sense of urgency.
Effective communication skills for the purpose of data relay, exchange, feedback, and clarification.

Licenses and/or Professional Accreditation

Valid Drivers license, clean drivers abstract and clean criminal background check required.
