- Senior Leadership and Board of Directors Financial Statements and relevant narrative and analysis
- Collection, evaluation and consultation with manager and directors to validate CRMS data
- Preparation and validation of required Ministry and Government reports
- Preparation of Charitable Return T3010
- Prepare quarterly reports for smaller funders and community partners
- Prepare all rent supplement ministry reporting
- Prepare and file the quarterly HST reports
- Expertise in CRMS, GP, HRIS backend development and data processing
- Collaboratively work with end users and software vendors to validate and produce data
- Utilizing backend experience for data validation and translation for management decision making
- Collaborative support of timecard entry process
- Analysis and forecasting of salary and benefits costs
- Yearly HOOPP reconciliations
- Back up the processing of monthly employee expense claims.
- Maintenance of the HRIS program
- Identify and execute process improvement and automation projects
- Work with in and lead project improvement teams with other departments
- Prepare and distribute invoices as required, post information into journals and ledgers
- Reconcile accounts, identify and follow up on discrepancies and delinquent accounts
- Prepare monthly landlord payments and tracking for the housing program and provide receipts
- Develop processes to improve Audit preparation functions
- Assist in year-end audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
- Prepare housing schedules for audit
- Assist in budget preparation
- Assist in preparation of government reports, monthly reports and monthly financial statements
- Report and maintain program-related statistical data
- Complete administrative tasks including timesheets, expense reports, vacation requests
- Prepare finance procedure for new and existing tasks
- Assist in preparing financial policies as required
- Complete intakes and other required documents in program and agency policies and procedures and standards
- Provide formal, regular and timely supervision, direction and leadership to direct reports working in the Finance program
- Provide daily leadership (informal supervision) to direct reports, and occasionally to indirect reports in other programs – coaching, modeling, mentoring, motivating and leading staff
- Participate in the completion of staff performance appraisals and make recommendations regarding probationary staff, trial period and individual performance improvement needs
- With Human Resources, actively participate in the recruitment and selection of new hires
- Deliver and coordinate new employee program orientation and training, including initial meetings, development of orientation schedules, regular check-ins, and linking new staff with mentors and other workers
- Participate cooperatively in the agency performance management process/system
- Stay current on relevant legislation and best practices, current research, policies and procedures
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training
- Actively engage and participate in supervisory process
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, applicable regulations and all organizational health and safety requirements and procedures to ensure the health and safety of clients, staff/colleagues, volunteers and students
- Back up the Finance Analyst as required
- Attend, participate in team/staff meetings, and all-staff meetings as required
- Participate in agency quality improvement activities, e.g. accreditation projects, committees, special events, etc.
- Participate in quality improvement activities at the team/program level
- Participate in external committees as required
- Duties may change from time to time
- First Aid/CPR, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (A.S.I.S.T.), Verbal Intervention
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics G.P. accounting system and Quadrant HR
- Knowledge of Ontario Health Care Reporting Standards
- Enrolment in the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program
- Minimum three (3) years accounting, finance and payroll experience
- Excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to self-manage time and multiple tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, databases)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible, and works effectively at an individual, program and system level
- Finance experience in the not for profit sector
- Intermediate to advanced minus French proficiency

- Lived expertise with a mental health concern or addiction, either personally or with a family member is an asset
- Proof of receipt of full COVID-19 vaccine
- Ability to work remotely, for example from home, as required.
- Requirement to have reliable home internet service and the technology to complete work from a remote location, for example computer/laptop, telephone, etc.
- Work occurs in a combination of an office environment and a remote environment, such as a personal home, as required; required to be on-site at least one (1) day per week
- May work indirectly with individuals with a with serious mental illness and/or dual diagnosis and/or addictions
