As a CAD Technician, you'll be an integral part of our Construction & Design Team, and your key duties will include:
  • Using computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) tools and software (AutoCAD), assist in the preparation of Architectural 2D and 3D Conceptual Drawings, Development of Permit Drawings, Building Permit Drawings, and Issued for Construction Drawings, Details, Specifications and Supplemental Documentation.
  • Assisting with the design and implementation of building designs, including engineering and construction aspects.
  • Assisting with the development of the technical and functional aspects of our building designs.
  • Liaising with Ownership, Stakeholders, Internal and External Design and Engineering teams, as well as Construction teams to facilitate building designs and the required drawing packages.
  • Assisting with the applications for Rezoning, Development Permit, and Building Permit applications.
  • Assist with preparing "Issued for Construction" drawing packages.
  • Assisting with in-office contract administration tasks for buildings under construction.
  • Communicating with and collaborating with multi-faceted project teams in the execution of your work.
  • Support the growth and development of the company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
  • Performs other duties as required.
What are we looking for?
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar roles.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to produce a complete set of construction drawings with input from Architects, Consultants, and Senior Building Technicians.
  • Working knowledge of building envelope concepts, construction practice, and building systems.
  • Wood Frame Construction Experience.
  • High-level organizational and time management skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented, versatile, and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude, with good initiative and a strong work ethic.
  • Working knowledge of the Canada Building Code and the British Columbia Building Code.
