Maintenance Technician

- Perform corrective and preventive maintenance according to standards and schedules.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and system problems based on test results, error messages, and operator feedback.
- Repair and maintain production equipment to ensure consistent operating efficiency.
- Collect and document repair/maintenance data and ensure proper follow-up actions are taken.
- Plan, schedule, and carry out preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Oversee and perform routine checks, maintenance, and repairs for production-related utilities, including water, electricity, compressed air, gas, and related systems.
- Monitor, maintain, and replenish spare parts inventory.
- Prepare and manage the annual spare parts budget.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair records, and PM schedules according to ISO 13485 and GMP SOP requirements.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications.
- Support compliance with regulatory standards in a clean room manufacturing environment.
- Support installation, set-up, and programming of equipment.
- Provide demonstrations of equipment operation for new machine operators.
- Communicate safety, control, and operating features of equipment in a clear and concise manner.
- Communicate potential mechanical hazards to team leads.
- Ensure adherence to safe work practices and company procedures.
- Continuously develop technical skills to stay current on equipment and processes.
- Recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and systems.
- Assist with other duties as required.
- Post-secondary education required.
- College or University program in electro-mechanical and/or automation preferred.
- Experience operating automated machines and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/technical issues.
- Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex issues with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency with hand tools.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to new technologies.
- Experience with ultrasonic welding.
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (healthcare, food, pharma, or NHP).
- Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is considered a strong asset.

- Location: Markham, ON – On-Site
- Hours of Work: Standard workweek is 40 hours. Shifts follow the production schedule:
- Compensation: $25—28/hour, with flexibility based on experience.
- Bonus: Employees may be eligible for an annual bonus, based on performance and achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
