What you'll doThe Industrial Electrician is responsible for achieving department and customer operation goals; ensuring ongoing equipment (system) reliability and uptime through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs, troubleshooting, analysis and equipment upgrades.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures; working in a safe and effective mannerPerform service and preventative maintenance on all equipment within the DCRespond to all equipment breakdowns in a timely manner based on priority systemsMaintain accurate parts and work order records (logged hours, Stores parts used, and detailed comments on failure cause/solution(s) or other relevant technical details) on computerized maintenance system (MAXIMO is an asset)Perform repairs with minimal supervision, take responsibility and make decisions to see the job to completion within time demandsTroubleshoot electrical systems through the use of electrical schematics, personal computers, panel layouts or manufacturer's specifications to effect repairProvide information on equipment/system problems to coordinator and provide updates as requiredProvide required shift change hand-off information on equipment repairs or work orders to shift coordinator and incoming tradesMake recommendations to improve equipment operation/efficiency, reduce maintenance costs and improve maintenance service to customersDemonstrate flexibility when tasks are reassigned or alteredFollow maintenance quality and standard operating procedures as establishedWhat you bringCurrent Ontario Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Electrician – 442A) or #309A Construction Electrician with relevant industrial experienceExperience effectively troubleshooting equipment electrical/controls problems and investigating the root cause of such problemsExperience in troubleshooting Rockwell programmable controller (PLC) systemsKnowledge of electrical and electronic equipment as well as various testing procedures to diagnose and repair/setup of such equipmentExperience in the installation, trouble shooting and repair of DC Controllers and AC drivesExperience in working with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS)Ability to work at heights up to 100 feetAbility to stand for long periods with occasional laying down, stooping and crouching, plus frequent heavy liftingExperience working on conveyors, sortation equipment, towlines & cranesDetailed programming of PLCs and PLC systemsExperience with MaximoHybridAt Canadian Tire we value flexibility.
