They aim to eliminate prejudice and discrimination and shape a world where mental illness is central to our healthcare system - a world where Mental Health is Health.To learn more about CAMH, please visit their website at:To view our Land Acknowledgment, please clickThe INTREPID Lab at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is seeking a casual Research Assistant 1 to support a randomized control trial studying the impact of coordinating smoking cessation treatment with menstrual cycle phase on quit outcomes.Reporting to the Research Manager, the candidate will be responsible for carrying out the following activities to support the implementation of the study.
  • Recruit study participants and obtain informed consent.
  • Arrange interviews with participants
  • Perform literature searches by searching electronic research sources.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, including tracking, unpacking, and organizing incoming nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) shipments, and documenting NRT dispensing to participants.
  • Prepare and assemble participant kits for remote distribution, including NRT and study materials.
  • Supports the data collection and analysis process
  • Assists in preparation of reports and knowledge translation products.
  • Provide administrative support to study team and assist in any other study implementation tasks as needed
This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.The successful applicant will have a secondary school diploma or equivalent. A background in health or social sciences is preferred. Previous experience supporting research studies (including volunteer experience) is preferred.Key qualifications include:
  • Superior interpersonal and communication (oral/written) skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and a determined attitude towards ensuring accuracy and integrity
  • Strong knowledge translation, dissemination and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex information into a variety of engaging formats for diverse audience groups
  • Strong working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently and collaboratively within a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team environment, with diverse stakeholder groups
