You'll have the room to grow, the flexibility to balance life with work, and the opportunity to better health worldwide, together.The opportunityUnder the direction of the Manager Maintenance and within one's area(s) of qualification and / or certification, provides maintenance support to install, maintain, repair, and overhaul residential, commercial, and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems and facilities to enhance productivity, quality and safety. Performs a variety of tasks, including, but not limited to installation, modification, repair, fabrication, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, set-up, commissioning or execution of protocols, in accordance with established SOPs, GMP and EH&S requirements.Please note that this role requires travel between our three sites, 30 Novopharm, Stouffville and Markham sites.How you'll spend your day
  • Install, maintain, repair, and overhaul residential, commercial, and industrial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) systems and/or facilities in accordance with established SOPs, GMP guidelines and EH&S policies. Work in a team environment.
  • Diagnosing faults in electrical and mechanical components, and repairing or replacing defective parts (e.g., motors, compressors, thermostats), read blueprints, perform brazing/welding, and ensure systems meet safety and energy-efficiency standards. Able to work on furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation units.
  • Performing routine maintenance such as cleaning ducts, changing filters, checking refrigerant levels, and calibrating systems to ensure efficiency. Perform safe operational checks on equipment and systems. Detect and investigate variance in performance of equipment, utilities, systems and/ or facilities to ensure proper functioning, identifying concerns as required. Possess knowledge of applicable codes / standards.
  • Identify an OEM or spare part by consulting machine manuals when required. Communicate with supervisor about a purchase prior to initiating a purchase request. Creates a work order in CMMS. Follows TEVA purchasing guidelines.
  • Execute qualification and/or validation protocols for the installation, commissioning and/or operation of equipment, Starting up systems, testing for leaks using specialized equipment, and verifying proper functionality. Complete required compliance documentation, log books, timesheets, etc. when executing duties.
  • Complete and maintain current training and awareness of related legislated codes, EH&S procedures, SOPs and GMP requirements Completes ongoing training to respond to technology changes at the Site, as well as improving knowledge of facilities, systems and equipment. Completes on going training to maintain licenses / certificates. Completes all assigned training pertaining to SOP's, EHS, and GMP on the computerized training system on time. Stays abreast of all legislative codes related to job function.
  • Hazard Recognition and Investigation Skills: Identify, prevent, and proactively correct workplace hazards and conditions. Perform incident/accident investigations, root cause analysis, and establish appropriate corrective action.
  • Role Modeling: Role modelling of EHS practices to prevent the release of materials/energy, reduce EHS impacts, and ensure adherence to EHS regulatory requirements and procedures.
Your experience and qualifications
  • Required:High School Diploma or equivalent.Preferred:Technician or technology diploma
  • Three (3)+ years mechanical or electro- mechanical experience
  • Preferred: 5 years experience in pharmaceutical maintenance
  • One or more of the following Ontario accreditation/certification:
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program, often requiring a Certificate of Qualification (313A or 313D for refrigeration/AC, 308A for sheet metal, or G1/G2 for gas fitting).
  • HVAC Technician (an asset) or comparable Certification
  • Proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and measuring/ calibration/diagnostic devices
BAS, CMMS, PLC, E-mail, Windows * cGMP, WHMIS. The typical hiring range for this position is from $70,480-$88,100 annually. The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, this role may qualify for an annual bonus based on employment type.
