● Manage and execute accounting and finance reporting.
● Support treasury functions, including the relationship with the bank.
● Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to the Controller, helping design and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across various departments.
● Assist in the preparation and oversight of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
● Record, design, and implement new finance processes and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy as required.
● Design, implement, and maintain internal controls and ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, provincial and federal regulatory requirements.
● Participate in and support regular internal audits to ensure adherence to company policy.
● Educate and mentor staff and peers on financial performance and KPIs to drive a culture of cost ownership.
● Work on other finance projects as required.Critical Qualifications● Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
● A minimum of six years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance role.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite applications, ability to build complicated templates.
● CPA designation is an asset.
● A comprehensive understanding of financial practices, US GAAP/IFRS, financial reporting and provincial/federal regulatory requirements.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data and potential risk areas clearly to senior management.
● Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to maintain strict deadlines for closing processes and project timelines.
● Able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
● Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
