Employment Type: Salaried, non-unionToro Glasswall is pleased to offer an exciting supervisory opportunity on our afternoon/ night shift. This existing role is responsible for leading and supporting unionized production employees and plays a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations.Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily department operations to ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Communicate regularly with management regarding production output, quality metrics, staffing, safety concerns, and operational issues.
- Train, coach, and evaluate employees on job duties, safety practices, and company policies and procedures.
- Address and investigate employee relations and performance matters as required.
- Manufacture initial parts and verify them against approved quality samples and engineering drawings.
- Continuously monitor production processes with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot workflow, equipment, and process issues; coordinate requests for materials and supplies as needed.
- Prepare and submit production reports and related documentation.
- Participate in and contribute to production and cross-functional meetings.
- Collaborate with Maintenance to support preventative maintenance activities and ensure timely repair of equipment issues.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by enforcing safety rules, regulations, and the proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Work collaboratively with teams across all Toro Glasswall facilities and departments.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the Drafting department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in industrial manufacturing and/or construction (facades, glazing, aluminum, metals, modular, or building envelope experience is an asset).
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Demonstrated experience supervising and working within a team environment.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office (Word and Excel).
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret shop and fabrication drawings.
