
LRT Signaling System Coordinator

- Retrieve progress from SIG
- Track progress for design, ICDs, RFIs, procurement, installation and other relevant KPIs
- Review the subcontractor(s) documents and administer the Aconex review process with the relevant parties: lead designer, RAMS, Quality, T&C, etc.
- Package the subcontractor(s) documents for submission to the EOR/City
- Organize with the subcontractor(s) and the City the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) events as required in Canada and abroad. Attend the FAT if needed.
- Review and follow through the subcontractor(s) and Installer's schedules, both main schedules and 3 week look-ahead
- Work with the MIP Installation team to ensure that Field Change Requests (FCR) that arise get answered timely
- Coordinate field activities between Signaling and Interfaced systems (internals and externals)
- Follow applicable safety policies and procedures and enforce their application by subcontractor(s) and direct reports.
- Coordination of the pre-installation tests of the SIG equipment in MIP staging facilities, with the subcontractor(s) test team and coordinators of at least COMMS and TSC (Traffic Signal Control) packages
- Reviewing Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and System Integration Testing (SIT) procedures and witnessing the execution of SATs and SITs
- Track the Non-Conformity Reports (NCR) and seek for their resolution
- Coordinate the final close-out / turnover documentation: O&M manuals, training manuals, as-builts, spare parts lists and deliveries, and warranty certificates
- Review the subcontractor(s) deliverables through the RFQ process and support the PM in the qualification process (mostly tracking the list of deliverables and reviewing some deliverables, like BoQ, statement of compliance, etc.)
- Review the Designer's documents for the various facilities for constructability
- Follow up the comments from the City's review (ROCO) and their resolution with the subcontractor(s) engineers and lead designer/EOR
- Coordination with procurement for launching the POs in a timely manner.
- Coordination with the warehouse responsible for the reception of materials
- Coordination with the installer for the delivery of materials, after pre-installation tests in MIP staging facilities, for on-site installation
- Aid in the resolution of interface issues that may arise between two or more interfacing vendors with the objective of achieving resolution and closure on all relevant Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Lead the weekly progress meetings on behalf of the PM (when needed), record and circulate the minutes of meeting
- Attend the technical meetings with the Designer/EOR and subcontractor(s) when required (in coordination with the PM)
- Schedule and lead on behalf of SIG any required installation coordination meetings with Traffic Control/Signals, Facilities and other MIP subcontractors
- Ensure/enforce conformance of the Signaling System activities and deliverables to the project's quality requirements
- Support the post-execution activities in the Infrastructure Performance Demonstration (IPD) phase in relation to the Signaling System
- Perform other tasks as required by the Rail & Systems team
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology or computer science (or work experience in a related field)
- Broad technical knowledge and project coordinating experience (min. 3 years) in Signaling Systems on railway projects: TCS (Interlocking), TRPS, ATP, CTC, TWC, etc.
- Experience in Tram or LRT lines is a plus.
- Knowledge of Traffic Control systems is a plus
- General understanding of interfaces: system to system; system to facility; system to Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) etc.
- Excellent communications and problem-solving skills; ability to recognize and analyze gaps; and a team player
- English proficiency is mandatory (reading / writing / speaking) - French is a plus
- AFP / PPP / P3 construction project work experience is an asset
- PMP or Prince 2 certification is a plus
Valid driver's license, preferably with clean abstractMust be able to negotiate the terrain of an in-process construction site, including steep/ slippery terrain, climbing stairs and ladders, and outdoors as required in all types of Edmonton weather (cold, hot, noise, dust, smoke.)DIVERSITY IS IMPORTANT TO US
