Instrumentation Technician - Building Automation (Distech Focus)Cahill Technical Services (CTS), a division of The Cahill Group, is looking for an Instrumentation Technician with experience or interest in Distech Controls to support our growing Building Automation portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, system integration, and commissioning activities in a collaborative, field-focused environment.Location: Dartmouth, NS (Hybrid) Travel Requirement:Regular business travel (Training & Development: Ongoing technical and professional development opportunities availableWhat You'll Do
  • Configure, program, and commission Distech Controls systems and field devices
  • Build and validate control points, graphics, and sequences of operation • Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning documentation
  • Diagnose and resolve BAS-related issues in live environments
  • Support field installation teams and assist with control panel assembly
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers throughout project execution
  • Provide client training and operational support as required
  • Review control drawings and specifications for accuracy and constructability
  • Support energy optimization and system performance initiatives
  • Interest in learning design using AutoCAD and Bluebeam, preparing them for seamless field installation.
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to achieve cohesive system integration across all phases of the project.
What We're Looking For
  • Instrumentation, Electrical, HVAC, or Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years experience in BAS, controls, or related technical field, however, candidates with more extensive experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Distech Controls platforms considered a strong asset
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and DDC fundamentals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and BAS software tools
  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience is an asset (training available)
