- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial reconciliation, or similar roles
- Strong knowledge of reconciliations, financial processes, and internal controls, with insurance industry experience considered an asset
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and experience working with large datasets across multiple data sources
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Bonus: You’re a go-getter working towards your CPA designation
- Perform direct bill and account reconciliations by aligning carrier statements with internal sales reports, validating underlying policy records, and reconciling commission deposits
- Conduct monthly reasonability analyses on commission revenue, comparing carrier deposits to sales reports and identifying variances in commissions and premiums
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and strong financial controls across the end-to-end direct bill process
- Download, collect, and maintain carrier statements from portals and email, ensuring complete documentation and organized record retention in SharePoint
- Partner with AR, Operations, Branch teams, and insurance carriers to resolve issues, improve data quality, and strengthen workflow accuracy
- Identify and implement process improvements and operational efficiencies within the direct bill and commission reconciliation workflow
- Support month-end close and audit requirements by preparing reconciliations, documentation, and detailed explanations as needed
