
HR302: Senior Accountant, ILS | Bermuda

- Oversee the accuracy and timely reporting of key finance deliverables including investment/collateral reports, monthly management accounts and supporting schedules. Assist with delivery of the year-end financial reporting information including financial statements and regulatory filings
- Be responsible for the management of collateral positions, sufficiency of funding, and timely posting and release of collateral
- Assist with the development and implementation of the financial reporting operating model and internal control system of the company, including reviewing processes and documentation, and evidencing performance of key controls
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting process for the balance sheet and P&L, including analysis of cost budget to actuals
- Act as liaison between multiple parties including the outsourced insurance manager, underwriting and operations teams to resolve queries and ensure accurate deal accounting
- Assist with liaison with accounting service provider to ensure accuracy of reported information, drive completion of project work and ensure effective operation of service provider financial reporting controls. Monitor service provider performance in accordance with the company's third-party management framework
- Assist with expense and treasury functions including employee expense reviews and banking relationships
- Recognized accounting qualification with at least three years' experience in financial accounting
- Experience with financial reporting and risk management processes
- Experience with insurance/reinsurance accounting
- Experience with the ILS/collateralized reinsurance environment including familiarity with reinsurance trust agreements, collateral monitoring and funding mechanisms
- Enthusiastic, motivated individual looking to develop knowledge across multiple areas of a collateralized reinsurance environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities
- Strong eye for detail in reviewing financial information and reconciliations
- Ability to develop cohesive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Presentation of financial information at management level which is clear, concise and user-friendly
