Be part of our story. Come grow with us!POSITION OVERVIEW:We have an exciting new opportunity for a Training Coordinator. This is specialized work in coordinating police training programs for RCMP cadets, RCMP members and municipal staff. Your responsibilities will include coordinating and scheduling training programs; maintaining the training database; communicate with members when training is due; loads members into the course; monitors progress and compliance with established program expectations. You will also oversee the delivery of the cadet field coaching program; provide orientations; organizes field training rotations; provide input on the selection of the field trainer/coach and works with same to guide cadets during the training period; and monitors progress and compliance with established program expectations. Also, updating a variety of records in the training database and liaises with internal and external parties. You will be working independently, and sound judgement is required.DESIREABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCECompletion of Grade 12, supplemented by post-secondary courses related to the work; preferably some experience using police software applications; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESConsiderable knowledge of the functions, regulations, rules and procedures related to the work.
Considerable knowledge of the cadet field coaching program and of methods for monitoring and evaluating progress of cadets.
Sound knowledge of staff training needs and training programs as they relate to the work performed.
Sound knowledge of training methods, techniques and practices.
Ability to coordinate the cadet field coaching program, to monitor progress of cadets and their compliance with established program expectations, and to participate in testing and interviews of same to evaluate competencies.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Ability to exercise judgement in planning work schedules, meeting deadlines, deciding priorities, and solving operational problems.
Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports related to the work.
Skill in the operation of software applications used in the work.LICENCES AND CERTIFICATES
Ability to obtain and maintain designated RCMP Security Clearance.HOURS OF WORK:
Hours of work are governed by Schedule “B” (M) - based on article 12.01 which may, at the discretion of the Commanding officer of the R.C.M.P. or his/her duly appointed representative, work any seven (7) hour between the hours of 7:00 am and 12:00 midnight, Monday to Sunday, inclusive, with shift differential as per Article 13.10.
