- Assess, treat, rehabilitate, and manage cognitive, functional, and adaptive impairments to optimize return to function
- Develop and implement patient-centered care plans to maximize independence in daily, work, and leisure activities
- Collaborate with patients and families to obtain equipment and resources
- Participate in interdisciplinary team-based patient care and provide referrals and consultations as needed
- Supervise and support assigned support personnel and student placements according to guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation, workload records, and service statistics in line with standards
- Ensure patient safety, infection control, confidentiality, and secure handling of records
- Maintain, clean, and ensure safe working order of patient equipment
- Engage in quality assurance activities, staff meetings, and professional practice initiatives
- Pursue ongoing professional development and provide education and in-services to staff, patients, and volunteers
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- 3-5 years experience within a healthcare setting focused on the adult, senior, and rehabilitation populations
- Eligible for membership in COTA or Ontario Occupational Therapy Association
- Completion of or willingness to complete aFIM & FIM certifications
- Completion of or willingness to complete the Core Competencies from CorHealth Ontario.
- CPR/BLS
- Neurology or Stroke Certificates considered an asset
- ADP Authorizer and asset
- Staff referral program $1000 (for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC)
- Extended health benefits (permanent full-time)
- Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
