Our client, a leading and reputable company in the food industry, is seeking a progressive and detail-oriented, process-driven Accounting Analyst to join its growing finance team. This is a pivotal moment as the company undergoes significant business transformation, including major facility expansions and a full SAP S/4HANA implementation. This broad, hands-on role offers exposure across finance, focusing on Accounts Payable, general accounting tasks, and a high-visibility SAP S/4HANA implementation.Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will own the day-to-day AP function, support period-end close and audit, and play a key role in the rollout of the SAP implementation and a new AP Automation platform. There are no direct reports.

  • Oversee the full-cycle AP function, including management of the AP inbox, ensuring timely triage, processing, and organization of vendor invoices.
  • Drive the transition to a fully digitized AP environment by implementing scalable, paperless processes for invoice intake and management.
  • Prepare and execute vendor payments, ensuring accuracy, proper approvals, and adherence to payment schedules.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong vendor relationships by managing inquiries, performing statement reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring clear, professional communication.
  • Play a key role in the implementation of SAP S/4HANA, with a focus on optimizing AP processes and workflows.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for AP automation tools, ensuring systems are thoroughly validated and ready for successful deployment.
  • Document current and future AP processes to support system configuration, testing, and end-user training.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and implement opportunities for automation and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciling items are investigated and resolved promptly.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries and accruals to support an accurate and timely close process.
  • Contribute to the period-end close cycle, ensuring deadlines are met and the general ledger remains complete and reliable.
  • Support the annual external audit by preparing working papers, compiling documentation, and responding to auditor requests efficiently.
What You Bring
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA designation in progress or open to pursuing
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with solid exposure to AP and general accounting functions
  • Experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments such as distribution, food service, manufacturing, or a comparable industry.
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Energized by process improvement, digitization, and contributing to a business that is actively transforming.
