Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Creative Team is hiring a Freelance Senior Visual Designer to support our creative services for 18 months. This person will be asked to work across our portfolio of brands by designing and refining brand identities, developing internal and external marketing assets, and generating creative solutions. This role blends hands-on design expertise with strategic thinking and team leadership. You’ll partner closely with copy, art directors, studio designers, research, and marketing teams to drive compelling brand-building creative across channels on multiple brands. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, organized, has strong time management skills and people management experience.What will you do?Conceptualize, create and refine visual identities, including logos, colour palettes, typography, illustrations and iconography, etc.Develop brand guidelines, brand assets, and resources for internal and external useConceptualize and create internal & external marketing campaigns, websites, emails, paid ads, social posts, and moreProduce marketing assets, including digital publications, infographics, data visualization, presentation decks, event assets, and other marketing materialsWork closely and collaboratively with the Product Design, Marketing, and Research TeamsCollaborate with art directors, designers, production artists, and writers to execute campaigns and digital solutionsEffectively rationalize, communicate, and present ideas and designs to key stakeholders and senior business leadersBalance hands-on design work with leadership responsibilitiesWhat will you need to succeed?6+ years of experience working in design, digital, or advertising agenciesA portfolio that demonstrates your design skills, conceptual thinking, and experience in print and digitalStrong aesthetic skills and a demonstration of graphic design core principles with respect to typography, layout/composition, grid systems, colour, photography, iconography, etc.Well-versed in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Powerpoint, and similar toolsAbility to ideate and collaborate alongside a copywriter, visual designers, art directors, creative directors, marketers, and othersAbility to embrace feedback and continue to iterate and improve your workAbility to communicate and present ideas and rationalesExperience as a People Manager and/or overseeing the work of other creativesAbility to multitask and adapt in a fast paced environmentNice-to-HavesExperience in motion designExperience working with performance and digital marketersExperience working in start-up environmentsJob SkillsAdditional Job DetailsAddress: 20 KING ST W:TORONTOCity: TorontoCountry: CanadaWork hours/week: 37.5Employment Type: Full timePlatform: PERSONAL & COMMERCIAL BANKINGJob Type: Contract (Fixed Term)Pay Type: SalariedPosted Date: 2026-04-10Application Deadline: 2026-05-24Note: Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on the day prior to the application deadline date aboveOur Employment OpportunitiesAt RBC, we are guided by living shared values of Client First, Integrity, Collaboration, Respect and Excellence and winning together as One RBC.
