- Knowledge of developmental issues and theories related to mental illness for the client population.
- Broad knowledge of COTBC standards of practice and guidelines for clinical practice
- Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of occupational therapy and broad knowledge of occupational therapy theory and practice.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Familiar with evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area(s)
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of occupational therapy in family-centered approach to care.
- Basic knowledge of occupational therapy standardized tests and measures.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and work with children, adolescents and families of advanced complexity.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and empower children, youth, their families, and other professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to organize time and responsibilities and to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to the unexpected events, problem-solve, set priorities and deal with conflict.
- Demonstrated/referenced interpersonal and collaborative team skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislature applicable- i.e. The Mental Health Act, Hospital Act.
