We are currently seeking applicants for the position of Field Safety Coordinator to join our fast-paced, dynamic team in Saint John, New Brunswick.Key Responsibilities:
- Have a strong presence in the field to maintain a culture focused on prevention and leading indicator activities.
- Partner with Management and Operations to establish a strong safety culture focused on prevention and leading indicator activities through coaching in the field.
- Proactively educate and coach on safe work behaviors.
- Educate employees and managers about good practices in occupational health and safety.
- Create and coordinate the implementation of policies and procedures related to health and safety.
- Ensure compliance with corporate standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Participate in and at times lead investigations related to incidents, and ensure that corrective actions are tracked, communicated and implemented.
- Improve safety key performance indicators (KPI) statistics, analyze information and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSCs)
- Manage and maintain the various health and safety programs including, but not limited to; Compliance Audits, Safety Meetings, Toolbox talks, etc.
- Possess post-secondary education in Safety or related discipline
- 2 or more years’ experience in a position related to Occupational Health and Safety in a related field
- Experience and knowledge in construction, heavy lift and heavy haul would be an asset.
- Change Management experience is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in creation, education and implementation of safety training and programs.
- Completion of, or commitment to complete, New Brunswick Construction Safety Association’s COR Training.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office skills required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety regulations in Atlantic Provinces
- Experience leading a change within an organization.
- Valid driver's license and ability to visit sites in Atlantic Provinces.
