Centennial Auto Group in Summerside is looking for an organized, skilled and motivated individual to join our Maintenance team.NOW HIRING: Carpenter ApprenticeLOCATION: Centennial Auto Group, Summerside, Prince Edward IslandHOURS: Full-time, permanent position. Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, 40 hours per week.WAGES: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour + benefits (negotiable based on experience)THE PERFECT FIT:We’re looking for an energetic person interested in pursuing their Red Seal in carpentry. Someone who takes pride in doing quality work and getting the job done right. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented with some construction experience and knowledge.   • Ability to understand and follow instructions and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors
  • Knowledge of labels, safety warnings, and guidelines, with commitment to safe work practices
  • Strong attention to detail and awareness of safety at all times
  • Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams, blueprints, sketches, building plans, and specifications
  • Solid working knowledge of job site safety requirements and procedures
  • Proficiency in carpentry techniques, tools, and equipment
  • Accurate measuring, cutting, and assembly skills
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and handle materials
  • Clear and effective communication skills
JOB TASKS:
  • Material Handling:
  • Load and unload materials; some heavy lifting required.
  • Move materials to designated areas on-site as needed.
  • Carpentry Tasks:
  • Perform various carpentry tasks, including but not limited to framing, finish work, concrete, rebar, sanding, and painting.
  • Accurately measure, cut, and shape lumber, wood, and other building materials.
  • Tool and Equipment Usage:
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, lifts, and staging.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Worksite Safety and Organization:
  • Follow instructions from supervisors and adhere to company safety standards at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including regular site clean-up.
  • General Construction Duties:
  • Assist with general maintenance, repairs, renovations, and new construction projects.
  • Perform work efficiently and within the set timelines.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Take on additional duties as assigned by management.
