- Post-secondary education in Wood Science, Forestry, Engineering, or a related technical field is considered a strong asset.
- EIT or P.Eng registration considered an asset.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a technical related role within the EWP or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of engineered wood manufacturing processes and quality standards.
- Experience with finger jointing and face laminating is an asset.
- Familiarity with quality management systems(e.g., ISO 9001) and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is an asset.
- Experience supervising laboratory operations within an industrial manufacturing environment, specifically in a quality assurance/quality control.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in technical documentation and reporting.
- Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., Minitab, SPSS) and techniques such as control charts, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and design of experiments (DOE) desired.
- Ability to work both day and afternoon shifts.
- As we are not located in a transit-accessible area, individuals must have a reliable means of getting to and from work.
- As part of our onboarding process, successful candidate will be required to undergo Alcohol and Drug pre-screening.
- Develop, implement, maintain and monitor quality management systems to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including the setup, maintenance, and calibration of testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Ensure all process and laboratory testing equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Lead and participate in all process and product improvement initiatives and new product development.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve process issues to minimize product impact and downtime and to enhance production efficiency.
- Conduct regular reviews and reports to update stakeholders on quality metrics, laboratory performance, and equipment status.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality management systems, laboratory procedures, and equipment use and maintenance.

- You'll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $87,000 to $116,000 per year.
