UNFS currently operates retail venues across campus ranging from small grab and go cafes to high volume food court operations.The Sous Chef is responsible for overseeing and participating in the day-to-day retail, residential and/or catering operations which includes responsibility for all cooks, food preparation and production within their designated areas. The Sous Chef performs duties as assigned by the Executive Chef and/or Executive Sous Chef, as per established standards of operation.Job RequirementsRequired Qualifications:
  • Must be physically able to lift 10-201bs numerous times each day and up to 50 lbs. several times a day. Must be able to push/pull up to 50 lbs. frequently. Requires long periods of time standing, frequent bending, overhead reaching, and twisting motions.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekday, weeknight, and weekend shifts. Must have excellent knife handling skills.
  • Must maintain proper personal hygiene in accordance with UNFS policy.
  • Must have a proactive and confident approach in supervising a team as well as upholding all policies and procedures are followed when management is unavailable.
Skills:
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions accurately.
