
Apprentice Pipefitter

Key Responsibilities:
- Lays out, assembles, fabricates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs piping systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating, and other process piping systems
- Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements
- Selects type and size of pipe required
- Measures, cuts, and threads pipe to required dimensions using hand and power tools
- Tack, welds and threads joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
- Installs supports, valves, piping, and control systems
- Tests system for leaks using testing equipment
- Cleans and maintains pipe units and fittings and flush systems
- Removes and replaces worn components and reactivates systems
- Listen and be receptive to instructions and work to achieve set goals, action plans and timelines for project completion.
- Apply knowledge and skills learned from coaches and mentors to ensure completion of the apprenticeship program.
- Be eligible for registration as a registered apprentice; or
- Be a registered apprentice.
- Motivated and willing to learn.
