Our Fort McMurray shop handles big equipment, real repairs, and the kind of fabrication work that challenges your skill-not your patience. You'll work with a solid crew, modern tools, and equipment that actually puts your welding ability to the test. Shift: 7x7- rotation of days and nights
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: up to 25% travel within Canada and the USA
Relocation: This position does not offer relocationKey Job Responsibilities
  • Perform all-position welding using GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW with various wire sizes
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols for repairs and fabrication
  • Use oxy/fuel cutting equipment and electric welding machines safely and effectively
  • Complete structural and mechanical welds on heavy mining equipment and components
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
  • Follow all safety procedures and ensure the well-being of yourself and your crew
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Certified Journeyperson Welder certification required, Red Seal preferred
  • 3-7 years welding experience, preferably on mining equipment
  • Experience with carbon arc gouging preferred
  • All-position CWB certification and heat-treat experience are strong assets
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to access any mine site without restrictions
  • Hold a valid class 5 driver's licence
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
