
Lifeguard - Part-Time

- Safeguards the facility; prevents potential accidents and performs rescues in accordance with emergency procedures.
- Performs assignments, when not on lifeguarding shift, such as cleaning the pool site, pool tests, batherload statistics and assisting patrons.
- Ensures proper equipment is set up before each lifeguarding shift.
- Participates in training and staff meetings as required.
- Completes report forms related to timesheets, accidents, unusual events, thefts, complaints and water chemistry.
- Participates in the organization and implementation of special events such as swim meets and fun days.
- Repairs equipment, or take appropriate action in the meantime, and advises supervisor of any equipment maintenance or replacement needed.
- Performs such other related duties as may be assigned.
- Current certifications: National Lifeguard Service, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
- Must be customer service orientated and able to get along with other members of the staff team
- Must demonstrate initiative and show a positive attitude
- CRCS/LSS Instructor
- Must maintain all awards current from date of application until end of employment period
- Must attend and complete within three months of employment, customer service training and WHMIS training
- Must undergo a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Will be required to work irregular hours and weekends
