- Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment
- Weigh resins, colorants and other chemicals according to formulae.
- Monitor and inspect quality of material produced
- Place weighed materials in mixing machines
- Unload mixture into container or conveyor for further processing
- Set up and operate calender machines to transform plastic bales or slabs into continuous sheets or films of specified thickness
- Set up and operate extruding machines to extrude plastic compound through a nozzle or die
- Change dies on extruding machines according to production line change
- Prepare and change moulds and adjust equipment for production line change
- Safe operation of a three-l ayer/and or mono-layer blown film extrusion system
- Make extruder adjustments according to already established working methods to maximize productivity
- Make order changes
- Ensure the quality of the finished product while following all health and safety rules
- Perform continuous quality checks throughout production runs
- Follow a 'clean as you go' policy keeping all areas tidy on site to ensure compliance with BRCGSfood safety standards
- Monitor machine performance, maintain output, quality and waste targets whilst keeping downtime to a minimum
- Report to the Plant Manager if a machine is defective or if there is malfunction
- Operate adequately Windmoller & Holscher and Reifenhauser equipment to complete job duties
- Conduct routine maintenance and calibration on Windmoller & Holscher and Reifenhauser equipmentTechnical troubleshooting of multi-layer blown film lines to identify and correct film defects such as gage variation, bubble instability, insufficient layer bonding, gels, mel fracture, die lines and material contamination
- Monitor and record key process parameters and quality considerations during production such as thickness, width, haze, tensile strength and opacity
- Monitor machine performance to maintain production output and quality standards to control waste produced and minimize downtime
- Follow BRCGS food safety standards, GMP requirements and clean as you go practices at all times to remain compliant with our BRCGS food safety certification
- Provide technical guidance and on the job training to junior or less experienced operators when required to maintain consistent production output and product quality.

- Must have single handedly operated machines, specifically mono layer and 3 layer blown film extrusion machines. Preferred:
- 1-Worked on W&H 3 layer and 5 layer blown film lines(Optimex,Varex)
- 2-Worked on Reifenhauser single/monolayer or triple layer blown film line
- Education:
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- Diploma in plastics technology is an asset.
- Experience:
- At least 4 years of experience in the blown extrusion industry or co-extrusion is required.
- Knowledge of BRCGS and ISO standards is an asset.
- Experience with Windmoller & Holscher and Reifenhauser equipment is required.

- Salary: $29.00 – 36.00 hourly, 42 Hours per week.
- Transportation costs covered if worker needs to relocate.

- Flexibility in schedule is required. Rotating continental 12-hour shifts from7:00 AM to 7:00 PM OR from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
- The worker will work an average of 42 hours every 2 weeks as per averaging agreement.
- Working days and days off will be determined on a rotational basis, with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 5 shifts per week.
- Work on weekends is required. Overtime may be required depending on the business needs.
