Mechanical Drafting Technician

- Work closely with customers at flagship manufacturing companies to understand their requirements and create effective solutions/design using Vention 3D MachineBuilder and library of modular components
- Lead design review sessions with clients to provide feedback and insight on their design
- Review users' designs for performance, structural integrity, efficiency, and quality
- Create custom parts and drawings using standard CAD software, occasionally.
- Contribute to the development of Vention's parts library and CAD by providing continuous feedback to our hardware and software team to improve the product
- Train clients on design best practices with MachineBuilder
- Run brainstorming sessions and technical post-mortems
- Test and troubleshoot designs assembled in-house prior to shipment
- Put in place references, standards, work methods and best practices
- Support the application engineering team with subsystem designs on complex automation projects
- 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanical drafting/design (machine frame, safety enclosure, industrial furniture, etc.)
- DEP in Mechanical Drafting / Industrial Drafting (or equivalent)
- You have a take charge attitude with a solution-oriented mindset
- You have strong communication skills with a passion for daily client interactions and mechanical designs
- You thrive in fast-paced environments which requires to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Bilingualism in French and English, verbal and written, is required.
